We recognize the indigenous people who called the Gulf Coast their home and lived in relationship with the plants for generations before European colonization.

To the people of the Chitimacha, Houma, Chahta Yakni (Choctaw),
and all other tribes native to the area we now too call home,
thank you for carrying forward traditions of living in right relationship
with plants and the natural world.  Thank you for simply being.

We at Delta Flora give deep gratitude to your ancestors
for living with and knowing the plants we now love and propagate.

We hope that connections with native local plants can take root
within all who now live in Bulbancha,
to deepen our reverence for the natural world
and our respect for the sovereign rights of Native People.

Bulbancha is the original name for the area known as New Orleans.
